Jordan Taylor charged in collision that left young woman seriously injured

A man will appear in a Valleyfield court today in connection with a crash that injured two joggers in Hudson last Friday.

'She's in so much pain,' victim's father tells Daybreak

Tina Adams's dedication to stayfit was such that she rarely went a day without going out for a jog.

"She trains out[side] everyday, she jogs everyday, because that's her passion," said her father Evan Adams in an interview withCBC'sDaybreak on Monday.

On Friday evening, Tina Adams and a friend were out for her daily jog in Hudson along Cambridge Street, where the family moved six weeks ago, when the unthinkable happened.

The pair was hit by a car, which then hit a hydro pole and caught fire. Police allege the driver had been drinking.

The 20-year-old woman, an aspiring police officer, was rushed to hospital in critical condition, where she remains today.

"She's in so much pain. She has so many broken bones," her father said.

"Even to move her, they have a special thing just to move her because of her spine."

The other jogger hit, a young man, was released from hospitalFriday.

Evan Adamssensed that something was wrong when he saw fire trucks and an ambulance driving down the street.

He approached a firefighter at the scene.

"I asked him 'Where's Tina?'" Adams said. "He said she was was transferred to the hospital."

Her father said she's already undergone surgery and there will be could be more to come.

The driverwasarrested at the scene andheld inpolice custody over the weekend

Jordan Taylor, 22,appeared in court today in Valleyfieldis charged with ten criminal offensesincluding dangerous driving causing bodily harm, impaired driving causing bodily harm,criminal negligence causing bodily harm andfailure to stop at the scene of an accident causing bodily harm.
