Mordecai Richlerdied in 2001 and was one of Montreal's most iconic novelists. His legacy includes the novelsBarney's Version, The Apprenticeship of DuddyKravitz, CocksureandSt. Urbain's Horseman.He won the Governor General's Literary Award for fiction twice, once in 1968 and again in 1971, and received the Scotiabank Giller Prize in 1997. He also wrote a bestselling picture book, Jacob Two-Two Meets the Hooded Fang, illustrated byDuan Petrii.
