Here are the candidates running in Malpeque

This federal riding represents the heartland of Prince Edward Island, from Kensingtonto Malpeque, Borden-Carleton to Cornwall, Grand Tracadie to Stanley Bridge and, of course, the interior.

This federal riding represents the heartland of Prince Edward Island, from Kensingtonto Malpeque, Borden-Carleton to Cornwall, Grand Tracadie to Stanley Bridge and, of course, the interior.

The riding has stayed comfortably with the Liberals for over 30 years, with incumbent MP Wayne Easter holding the seat through the bulk of that time.

Four candidates are running in this riding andthey're listedalphabetically byfirst name.

Anna Keenan, Green Party

Keenan was campaign director for the P.E.I. Coalition for Proportional Representation and was recently named to the Green Party of Canada's shadow cabinet. (Anna Keenan/Facebook)

Anna Keenan has called P.E.I.home for a number of years now, but is originally from Australia. This is her first time running for political office, although she's been involved in politics before aspast president ofthe provincial Green Party.

For 13 years she's worked withadvocacy organizations such as Greenpeace, Avaaz.org and, currently, the climate change advocacy group 350.org.She was alsocampaign director for the P.E.I. Coalition for Proportional Representationand was named to the Green Party of Canada's shadow cabinet.

Craig Nash, New Democratic Party

Craig Nash is originally from Gladstone, Man., but has called P.E.I. home for 23 years. This is the first time he's run federally, but he's run provincially for the NDP and was campaign manager for the NDPin the District 9 byelection.

He's worked in retail, as a business owner, in the military and has taught in China for Holland College. He's part of the men's fundraising groupGuys Who Give a $hit and is on the executive of his local union.

Stephen Stewart, Conservative Party

Stephen Stewart was born and raised in Kensingtonand is a retired entrepreneur. This is his second time running in Malpeque, running for the first timein the 2015 federal election.

Stewart worked in the mussel industry for 30 years and owned mussel farms atthe processing plant Confederation Cove Mussels. Since his retirement he's worked with a research and development company from Quebec.

Wayne Easter, Liberal Party

Wayne Easter is the incumbent MP in Malpeque and has been since 1993. He was raised on the family farm in North Wiltshire and, before politics, was president of the National Farmers Union for 11 years.

Throughout his life in politics Easter has been the solicitor general of Canada, parliamentary secretary for fisheries and agriculture and was elected chair of the House of Commons standing committee on finance.
