Are we in a new era of MILF cinema?

Culture critic Rachel Handler shares why she believes this is the year of hot, older moms on screen.

For the longest time, older women were rarely seen as the love interest or the sex symbol on screen especially if they were moms.

But times have changed. This year alone, audiences have gotten releases such as The Idea of You, A Family Affair,Last Summer, and Between the Templesfeaturing mothers as protagonists in a story where they are desired by (and indeed, indulge those desires with) a younger man.

Today on Commotion, culture critic Rachel Handler tells host Elamin Abdelmahmoud why she believes 2024 marks a new eraof the hot, older mom on screen, and how the trend has evolved for modern audiences.
