About The Collective

Today,artists are navigating the digital world themselves, often taking camera in hand to shoot their own content and uploading the results directly to social media.The Collective is a CBC Arts digital project that lets artiststell their own stories. CBC Arts and Emmy Award-winning interactive agency Secret Location teamed up to commission videos from artist collectives from across the country from dance to street art to writing and put the production of the videos in the hands of the artists themselves.ForThe Collective, everything from scripting to shooting to editing was done by the artists themselves. Each video is a testament to the unifying power of art.
