G20 fence gets finishing touches

Police are telling motorists to exercise caution when driving in Toronto's downtown core now that workers have completed the final stages of the G20 security fence.

Motorists on the streets at the start of Monday morning rush hour discovered a number of road closures that began Sunday evening.

LCBO closing stores during summit

Toronto's downtown core won't be the place to buy alcohol to take home during the G20 weekend.

The Liquor Control Board of Ontario says it's closing seven stores from Friday through Sunday because of the gathering of world leaders.

Protesters give Toronto taste of future

About 200 protesters walked peacefully but noisily through a section of downtown Toronto on Monday afternoon -- giving police and the public a taste of what to expect during this weekend's G20 summit.

The demonstration began at Allen Gardens, near Sherbourne and Gerrard streets and worked its way to the centre of the city.

G8/G20 summits have low terrorism risk: CSIS

The upcoming G8 and G20 summits in Huntsville, Ont., and Toronto do not appear to be the subject of terrorist chatter, the head of Canada's spy agency said Monday.

"I think [there is] surprisingly little on the terrorism front," Richard Fadden, the director of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service told the CBC's Peter Mansbridge in an exclusive interview. "We don't think there is anyone who is really interested in doing any harm from that perspective."
