One of the drivers involved in Fridays double fatality on highway 5A has been identified by the B.C. Coroners Service as 59 year old Gary Joseph Miller from Kamloops. The identity of the second victim, who was transporting lumber, is being withheld pending family notification. Kamloops South Thompson MLA Kevin Krueger is calling for truck traffic to be banned on that highway, Transportation Minister Mary Polak says her office is willing to review measures to once again address safety.

Environmental advocates say a proposal by the B.C. government to open old growth forests to logging would roll back years of "hard fought" legislation. Forests Minister Steve Thomson agrees it took years to put land use agreements in place and says that's why the province will use science and consensus to decide if and where to cut.

The Infighting between members of the B.C. Conservatives is coming to a head.
