Matt Rainnie is the host of CBC Radio Ones popular afternoon show on Prince Edward Island, MAINSTREET.

Matt started his career with CBC PEI in 1993. He was a television reporter and journalist before finding his home in radio. Matt has been host of Island Morning for eight years and is excited to return to the afternoon airwaves on MAINSTREET, which he hosted and produced for more than a decade.

Always active in the community, Matt continues to host numerous charitable and cultural events across the province. A longtime supporter of the PEI arts scene, Matt has also performed in sketch comedy and Confederation Centre productions.

Throughout his career, he has been guest host of CBC Radios Weekend Mornings, Sounds Like Canada and the national summer series Lost and Found. For a few seasons he also hosted CBC Maritimes television production of Short Film Face Off, shining the spotlight on regional filmmakers.

He lives with his family in Charlottetown.
