Mitch Cormier is co-host of ISLAND MORNING, CBC Radio One's early morning information program in Prince Edward Island.

Mitch grew up in Bathurst, New Brunswick. It's true; he is one of the few people who can claim to be doing exactly what his high school yearbook said he would! From the first time he hung a coat hanger out of this bedroom window and tuned in far-off stations, Mitch was hooked on broadcasting.

A graduate of Loyalist College's radio broadcasting course in Belleville, Ontario, Mitch has been involved in the media for over twenty years. He moved to Charlottetown, PEI in 1987 to host the morning show for the private radio station, CHTN. He juggled work and school for a few years, learning more about computers and the Internet. That led to a six-year assignment with CBC's News Online division. Mitch joined the Island Morning team in March 2006.

In his spare time, Mitch enjoys fly-fishing, camping and writing in the third person.
