Ryan Snoddon

Ryan Snoddon is a trusted meteorologist for CBC Nova Scotia and CBC New Brunswick and the Atlantic region. He provides complete weather forecasts weekdays on CBC Nova Scotia News at 6 and CBC New Brunswick News at 6. And at night, you will see him on the late-night newscast, Atlantic Tonight, which airs across the Atlantic region. You will also hear him on CBC Radio One programs in the region. 

Raised on a farm in Pefferlaw, Ontario, Ryan always had a keen interest in the weather. He studied broadcast journalism at Loyalist College, where he landed his first job reading and writing weekend newscasts at Quinte Broadcasting in Belleville, Ontario. Shortly after graduation, Ryan joined the Wolf 101.5 in Peterborough, Ontario, as a morning radio show co-host. In 2006, he became a Weather Specialist at CHEX-TV in Peterborough. In June 2008, Ryan joined CBC Newfoundland and Labrador, one of the stormiest and most beautiful places on earth. He spent 10 years at CBC Newfoundland and Labrador before heading to Halifax to become meteorologist in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. In 2011, Ryan graduated from the Broadcast/Operational Meteorology Program at Mississippi State University, achieving an Academic Excellence Award. 

Ryan is endorsed by the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society and was awarded the seal of approval for Broadcast Meteorology from the National Weather Association.
