When local beauty Helen Alderson attracts Jamess attention he finds another, more enduring reason to stay in the Dales.

Allegiance

ALLEGIANCE is a character-driven police procedural about identity and belonging, policing and politics, and finding truth within the heart of a flawed justice system. The drama stars Supinder Wraich as Sabrina Sohal, a star rookie police officer who must grapple with the limits of the justice system as she fights to exonerate her politician father Ajeet Sohal (played by Stephen Lobo). Sohal serves her diverse hometown of Surrey, BC alongside Vince Brambilla (played by Enrico Colantoni), a veteran training officer who sees her potential but doesnt always agree with her forward-thinking methods. ALLEGIANCE is the story of a young woman caught between her allegiance to her flag, to her badge, and to her family.

Son Of A Critch

TallBoyz

TallBoyz is back for a third season to explore everything from infant sleep training to the country's national sport. Measuring in at 252 collectively, Guled Abdi, Vance Banzo, Tim Blair and Franco Nguyen return to skewer popular culture from a very tall point of view. This seasons sketches range from silly, absurdist themes, like an ode to unwanted house pets and pothead heroes, to hard-hitting examinations of privilege, racism, and encounters with the royal family.

The Great Canadian Baking Show

CBCs homegrown take on hit format The Great British Bake Off, The Great Canadian Baking Show brings together 10 amateur bakers from across the country to compete in a series of themed culinary challenges that celebrate their diverse backgrounds, families and communities. Each of the one-hour episodes features three rounds: the Signature Bake, the Technical Bake and the Show Stopper. After the judges taste and critique the bakes, they crown one Star Baker and ask one baker to leave the tent. The final three bakers compete for the Great Canadian Baking Show title. The series is an affirming, warm-spirited competition that celebrates personal achievement and the joy of baking.

The North Water

The Porter

Inspired by real events and set in the roar of the 1920s, THE PORTER (8x60) follows the journeys of an ensemble of characters who hustle, dream, cross borders and pursue their ambitions in the fight for liberation - on and off the railways that crossed North America. It is a gripping story of empowerment and idealism that highlights the moment when railway workers from both Canada and the United States joined together to give birth to the worlds first Black union. Set primarily in Montreal, Chicago and Detroit as the world rebuilds after the First World War, THE PORTER depicts the Black community in St. Antoine, Montreal - known, at the time, as the Harlem of the North. Theyre young, gifted and Black, from Canada, the Caribbean, and the U.S. via the Underground Railroad and through the Great Migration, and they find themselves thrown together north and south of the colour line, in an era that boasts anything is possible - but if change isnt coming for them, they will come for it. By any means necessary.

The Witness for the Prosecution

THE WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION (3x60) is a three-part BBC miniseries based on the 1925 Agatha Christie short story of the same name, and is a compelling story of deceit and desire, money and morality, innocence and guilt, murder and heartbreak, and most painful and dangerous of all, love. At the center of this dark and tangled net is the astonishing character of Romaine, a noir heroine for all our times.
