Actor Michael Douglas will undergo radiation and chemotherapy for a tumour in his throat.

Actor Michael Douglas will undergo radiation and chemotherapy for a tumour in his throat.

Douglas, who wona best actor Oscar for 1987's Wall Street, is scheduled foreight weeks of treatment, according to his publicist's New York office.

The 65-year-old actorsays he expects to make a full recovery. He told People magazine in a statement Monday he's "very optimistic."

Douglas is currentlyoutside the United States, according to his publicist, Allen Burry, who declined to say where he is or where he will be treated.

Douglas and his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, purchased a house on the island of Bermuda nearly a decade ago, and Zeta-Jones said they planned to raise their two children there.

Douglasappears this fall in the Wall Street sequel, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.
