Former Dragons' Den star W. Brett Wilson is returning to TV with a new investing series called Risky Business.

The Slice network show, to be shot in Toronto in June, will feature a pair of novice investors asked to chooseone of twoventures in each episode.

After they make their choice, Wilson will take the remaining deal for himself and guide it for 30 days.

At the end of that period, the show will reveal which business is on the right track to make the most money.

"There's no cushion it's the school of real hard knocks. And my hope is that we'll be able to bring them investment opportunities, we will present things that have a real shot at coming together. [Still], these aren't lottery tickets... there's risk associated with every investment," Wilson said.

The Calgary-based entrepreneur says the endeavours could be unorthodox investments such as backing a race horse or bankrolling a pool shark headed to Las Vegas.

Wilson announced in February he would leave CBC-TV hit Dragons' Den after failed contract talks. Wilsonsays he still has about $4.5 million tied up in 31 ventures from the show.

"Once a dragon, always a dragon," he said.
