7-month sentence, deportation for B.C. teacher

A Lower Mainland high school drama teacher who pleaded guilty to two charges of voyeurism in Washington state last month is being sent back to Canada.

Chi Yung Luu, 30,was given a seven-month sentence on Tuesday, but will be turned over to immigration officials because of the time he's already served.

Luu has been in jail since last December when he was caught secretly videotaping teenage boys while they showered during a wrestling tournament in Tumwater, Wash., south of Olympia, the state capital.

Police seized a camera and several videotapes, and also found other videotapes in Luu's car from other sporting events.

Police in B.C. also searched Luu's basement suitefollowing his arrest.

U.S. prosecutor Jodilyn Erikson-Muldrew said the teacher from Delta's Burnsview Secondary School will likely face more charges when he returns to Canada.

"Based on the number of items found in a warrant executed up there, they are not done going through whatthey have found. It is my understanding that they are going to pursue similar charges to what was pursued down here."

The RCMP will only confirm that an investigation focusing on Luu by its Child Exploitation unitis still ongoing.
