One of two alleged gangsters from Abbotsford, B.C., was found guilty of 10 weapons charges and one drug charge in B.C. Provincial Court in Surrey on Thursday morning.

Brothers Jamieand Jarrod Bacon, werearrested in 2009 after a cache of weapons was found by police in a hidden compartment intheirSUV parked in the garage of the Bacon family home in Abbotsford in April, 2007.

The cache was found by police who were conducting asearch of the home and the Chevrolet Suburban, following an attempted hit on Jamie Bacon.

Judge Jean Lytwynruled there was enough DNA and fingerprint evidence in the vehicle to conclude Jamie must have known about the hidden compartment.

Jamie's fingerprints were found on a gun in the hidden compartment that had been fired minutes before police found it. Police alleged he was in the vehicle at the time of the alleged hit and used the weapon to return fire on his attackers.

But the judge ruled there was not enough evidence to conclude Jarrod must have known about the stash of guns as well. Jarrod was away on the day of the shooting and his DNA and fingerprints were only found on a magazine and cup holder in the vehicle.

As a result, the judge ruled that only Jamie, 22, was guilty of all 11 charges, and acquitted Jarrod, 25,on all charges. A sentencing hearing for Jamie has been scheduled for next week.

Jamie Bacon is also facing one count of first-degree murder inconnection to the slayings of six people in a Surrey condo in 2007. He remains in custody.

Jarrod also remains in custody awaiting drug chargesstemming from a police sting operation in November

A third brother, Jonathon Bacon, 28, is also awaiting trial on drug and weapons charges.
