Here are the unofficial results of the local elections in Vancouver and Surrey

The polls for British Columbia's municipal elections closed at 8 p.m. on Saturdayand preliminary results are now in.

Preliminary results are now in for British Columbia's municipal elections.

Unofficial results show Ken Sim will be elected mayor of Vancouver,with a decisive winover incumbent Kennedy Stewart. Official results will be declared on Oct. 19 at 4 p.m. PT.

In B.C.'s second-biggest city, Surrey, Brenda Locke defeated incumbent Doug McCallum, according to preliminary polls.
