Body found in Coquitlam investigated as homicide

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been called in after a body was discovered in CoquitlamearlyFriday morning.

Coquitlam RCMP saidthey were responding to a report of an abandoned vehicle in the 4000 block of Quarry Road around 6:30 a.m. PTwhen they found a body nearby.

An initial investigation determined the death wassuspicious and IHIT was called, police said.

The area hasbeen cordoned off and police say itwill remain off-limits to the public for "a significant amount of time," while IHIT conducts its investigation.
