Hikers rescued from Mount Seymour after night in emergency shelter

Two hikers lost overnight on Mount Seymour spent the night in an emergency shelter while rescue workers combed alpine trails and shorelines for signs of them.

Two hikers lost overnight on Mount Seymour spent the night in an emergency shelter while rescue workers combed alpine trails and shorelines for signs of them.

Sunday morning, aNorth Shore Search and Rescue helicopter lifted the pair to safety.

The search began Saturday night at around 8 p.m. PT after reports that the hikers were lost in the Elsay Lake area on Mount Seymour.

Rescuers spent the night searching and reported early Sunday that he hikers spent the night at the ElsayLake emergency shelter.

"Subjects located ok ...NSR planning for helicopter extraction at first light," said a North Shore Rescue Facebookpost.
