Maple Ridge homicide victim was 33-year-old Pitt Meadows man, say police

A homicide victim whose body was found Saturday in a car in a Maple Ridge parking lot wasn't known to police, and there's no sign the man's death was connected to other crimes in the area.

A homicide victimwhose body was found Saturday in a car in a Maple Ridge parking lotwasn't known to police, and there's no sign the man's death was connected to other crimes in the area.

The victim was a 33-year-old Pitt Meadows man, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) said in a statement onSunday.They have not released his name.

The man's body was discovered in the Haney Presbyterian Church parking lot just off the Lougheed highway around 4.30 a.m. Saturday.

Police aren't releasing any other details.

On Saturday morning, police blocked off two blocks of216 Street andRCMP brought several people from a nearby house in for what appeared to be questioning. The house was also blocked off.
