Jet ski accident on Fraser River kills 2 men

The R.C.M.P. have confirmed that two men in their 50s were found dead in the Fraser River Thursday night.

Investigators considering darkness and speed as potential factors in the deaths

The R.C.M.P. have confirmed that two men in their 50s were found dead in theFraser River Thursday night.

Police say both menhad head injuries, and a jet ski was found adrift near their bodies.

A commercial vessel captain first spotted the men on the south arm of the Fraser River near No.4 Road and the dyke shortlyafter 9 p.m. PT.

The crew of a coast guard hovercraft pulled them from the water, and CPR was attempted with no success. Both were wearing life jackets.

Police are not releasing identities until their families are notified.

Investigators are looking for anybody who may have witnessed what happened, but they do not suspect foul play.

Police say both speed and lighting could have been factors in the incident.
