When Candice Boucher moved to Kamloops from Abbotsford a month ago she didn't expect that within a couple of weeks she'd be giving birth.

Bouchersays she had no idea she was pregnant or in labour until she went to the hospital for back pain. Shesays she had not been taking her medication for her back since the birth of her previous baby14 months ago. But doctors told her the pain she was feeling was not from her back she was in labour again.

"I said, this is the kind of thing that happens on TV, right?"

"I'm still in shock," said the 30 year old.

'I really didn't know'

Boucher, who has named the new baby, Brooklyn, says she experienced pregnancy symptoms when she had her firsttwo children but not this time.

She attributed the weight fluctuation to stress and the holiday season. "I wore all my normal clothes, I did my normal stuff everyday, and I really didn't know this was in me."

Boucher says the year has been stressful and the move to a new city did not help.

"I've had a stressful year, I've been dealing with a lot of stuff," she said. "Everything was normal. I didn't feel her move."

Not part of the plan

Taking care of a newborn and toddler has been tough, says Boucher. And being in a new city makes a normally tough job, even harder.

"I just moved up here, that was a huge expenseon its own. That took all my savings."

Boucher says she is grateful for the help she has received from family and friends in Kamloops.

"In this situation you don't exactly expect any[thing]. It's very shocking to me and for everybody else to be so supportive of it was huge, I guess."
