Lions Gate Bridge reopens

Traffic is moving again on the Lions Gate Bridge, after being closed for most of the morning rush hour by a "police incident" involving a distraught man.

The man is now safely in care. And all three lanes are now open again.

The bridge one of the two road links into the city from North and West Vancouver was closed before 7 a.m.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were all on hand as traffic backed up at the north end of the bridge for about two-and-a-half hours.

Some drivers took off-ramps to get out of the lineup and headed for the Ironworkers Memorial Second Narrows Bridge.
