Man dead following altercation in Surrey

A man is dead following a fight early Friday morningin Surrey and the Integrated Homicide Team has taken over the investigation.

Police say the victim's body was found ata residence by his roommates the day after the altercation.

A man was arrested at the scene, but police say he hassince beenreleasedwithout being charged.

IHIT Is asking for witnesses to theearlier fight in the13800 block of Hansen Road in Surrey.

"It is ourbelief the victim and suspect knew each other," said IHITSgt. Stephanie Ashtonin a statement.

She's askinganyone who may have heard the fight at the Hansen Road location between 1:00 a.m. PT and 4:00 a.m. PT,Friday on April 17th to give them a call.
