Police are looking for witnesses after a Vancouver senior was found severely beaten in his car in Stanley Park last week.

Police say the 80-year-old man was found at the wheel of his car, a grey 2011 Toyota Corolla, around 2 a.m. PT on Wednesday, Nov. 16 near Brockton Oval.

The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remains there in serious condition, according to police.

Const. Jason Doucette said police don't currently know how the man ended up in the park or how he sustained the injuries, as they have not yet been able to speak with him due to his medical condition.

"We're just hoping that somebody saw this," Doucette said. "No bit of information for us is too small at this point."

Police have not released the man's name but they are asking anyone with any relevant information to contact them directly, or to contact Crime Stoppers if they wish to remain anonymous.

"We need your help to solve this mystery," said Doucette. "Even the smallest tip could help us find out what happened to this man."
