Marriage proposal at Victoria Marathon finish line

A Vancouver Island woman got more than she expected after finishing the Victoria Marathon for the first time on Sunday, when her boyfriend proposed at the finish line.

Artists KateMcNairand her nowfiancMatt Hill -an avid runner who has completed over 400 marathons - havebeen datingfor almost a year and a half.

The engagement ring Hill had made is as unique as the proposal. Instead ofdiamond, it containsMcNair'sfavourite stone, turquoise, and a piece of asphalt from the couple's first run together.
