Multiple pedestrians struck in midst of Lower Mainland storm

UglyLower Mainland weather was to blame for at least six accidents involving pedestrians and vehicles during rush hour on Thursday.

5 p.m., Vancouver: Pedestrian struck by a FedEx delivery truck at Taylor Street & West Pender Street in Chinatown. No update on injuries.

5:20 p.m.,Abbotsford: Pedestrian struck by a vehicle at Townline Road and Southern Drive. Police says a 20-year-old male was taken to the hospital, possibly with a broken leg. The driver remained on the scene.

5:30 p.m.,Langley: Crews called to 72 Avenue and 232 Street after a manout walking his dog ishit by a truck. Heis reported to be in critical condition. The driver remainedon scene.

5:40 p.m., Surrey: Pedestrian hit by a transit bus at 104th Avenue and University Drive.

5:45 p.m., Surrey: Report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the 10100 block of King George Boulevard.

6:00 p.m., Vancouver: Victim transported to Vancouver General Hospital after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the intersection at Hastings Streets and Renfrew Street in East Vancouver.

7:00 p.m., Delta: Pedestrian stuck in crosswalk on the westbound on ramp to Highway 91 from Cliveden Ave on AnnacisIsland. Victim suffered major head trauma andwas rushed to Royal Columbian Hospital.
