Police release sketch of suspect in seawall attacks

Vancouver police have released a composite drawing of the suspect intwo recent assaults on women who were walking near Sunset Beach in downtown Vancouver.

The first assault occurred at about 10 p.m. PT Saturday, when a 42-year-old woman was grabbed while walking her dogs under the Granville Street Bridge.

The second assault took place just after 12:30 a.m. Monday on the seawall near the Aquatic Centre under the Burrard Street Bridge. A 29-year-old woman was grabbed and dragged down the hill to the beach. She screamed, drawing the attention of passersby, and the suspect ran away.

The suspect in both attacks is described as a Caucasian man in his late 20s or early 30s, about six feet tall with a stocky, muscular build.

He has fair skin and short, dark hair worn in a brush cut. He was clean shaven, and was last seen wearing a black button-down shirt with short sleeves and a collar, dark jeans and running shoes.
