RCMP discover 2 bodies in Richmond home after reports of gunfire

Richmond RCMP are investigating the deaths of a man and a woman found in a home after reports of gunfire early Monday morning.

Richmond RCMP are investigating the deaths of two people found in their home after reports of gunfire early Monday morning.

Police were called to a residence in the 6600-block of EckersleyRoad after 2:30 a.m. PT, where they found thebodies of a man and a woman, said Cpl. Frank Jangof theIntegrated Homicide Investigation Team.

Police would not clarify whether the two victims were shotand would not identify them, as family have yet to benotified.

Jang said police believe thekillings were targeted and took place inside the housewhich is near a park and a school.

He said it may take more than a day for forensic specialists with IHIT and the RCMPto finish investigating the crime scene.

"Because it's in an enclosed space, there could be a lot of forensic evidence, blood and bodily fluids," he told reporters Monday.

Jang said the victims were known to police, and were associated with each other.
