IHIT investigating after dead man found inside a burnt truck in Squamish, B.C.

Police in Squamish are asking for the public's help in helping solve a homicide case in the community.

The vehicle was found on June 14 on a forest road north of the municipality

Police in Squamish are asking for the public's help to solve a homicide case in the community.

On June 14, officers were called to a burned vehicleon the Cheekye Forest Road. When they arrived, they found a dead man inside the truck, a2000 redGMC Yukon XL.

TheIntegrated Homicide Investigation Team has now determined his death was a homicide.

"Due to the difficulty of fire investigations and the suspicious nature of the incident IHIT was engaged from the onset," said Squamish RCMPCpl. Sascha Banks in a statement.

Anyone with information about the vehicle, or who saw suspicious activityon Cheekye Forest Road on June 13 or 14, is asked to callthe IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHITor if they wish to remain anonymous,Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-222-TIPS.
