Fire crews are gainingthe upper hand on the six-day-old Magee Road wildfire burning in B.C.'sSquamish Valley.

The status of the two-square-kilometre blazelocated northwest of the District of Squamish is now listed as "being held."

Coastal Fire Centre information office MargDrysdalesaid a crew will be conducting a thermal scan of the area from a helicopter on Monday in order to detect hotspots.

The Squamish and Lillooet Regional District lifted evacuation orders on Sunday.

The wildfire startedon April 15 and is believed to have been triggered by a slash burn that got out of control.

About 30 residents were evacuated from their properties and at least four homes burned down.

Drysdale said the weather forecast looked favourable for the firefighters, with showers predicted for Tuesday.
