Christy Clark to be sworn in March 14

B.C. premier-designate Christy Clark says she and her cabinet will be sworn in March 14.

B.C. premier-designate Christy Clark says she and her cabinet will be sworn in March 14.

Her cabinet will be smaller than the current group appointed by outgoing Premier Gordon Campbell, Clark said inVictoria Monday on her first visit to the legislature since she became B.C. Liberal leader.

She also suggestedsome current backbenchers could end up with portfolios.

"We're going to change government and we're going to certainly make sure we draw on some of the folks thathaven't been as busy in the past as they could be," she said.

Clark won the leadershipin a party vote Feb. 26, but the former MLA has yet to decide on a byelection location where she might run for a seat.

Clark said outgoing Premier Gordon Campbell's riding of Vancouver-Point Grey seems like a likely option.

Campbell, who planned on resigning his seat before the next election, said last week he would step aside and vacate his seat if Clark asked him to.
