Police investigating suspicious death on B.C.'s Salt Spring Island

RCMP say officers responded to reports of a fight early Friday morning and found two men performing CPR on an unresponsive man.

Police are investigating the death of a man on Salt Spring Island, B.C.

RCMP say officers responded to reports of a fight early Friday morning on Richard Flack Road and found two men performing CPR on an unresponsive man.

Salt Spring Island RCMP continued CPR on the36-year-old man. Hewas thentaken to hospital, where he died.

Police say the incident appears to be isolated and no charges have been laid.

The Independent Investigations Office has also opened a probe into the death and are "investigating if the actions or inactions of police are connected to the male's death," say RCMP.

The police watchdog investigates all police-involved deaths and serious injuries.
