Suspicious fire hits West Vancouver house

Several people were reportedly rescued after a suspicious fire broke out in a three-storey house on the 1400 block of Chartwell Drive in West Vancouver on Thursday morning.

Police have blocked off the area while fire crewscontinue to fight the blaze.

Helicopter news cameras showed flames still burning throughseveral sections of thehouse's roof just after7 a.m. PT, butauthorities said nobodywas injured in the blaze.

Police said the fire appeared to be suspicious, but did not explain why. They did saya large family lived in the home.

Two young menwho appeared to have fled the home in little more than their underwear refused to be interviewed by reporters on the scene.
