WorkSafeBC is investigating following a fatal accident in Surrey, B.C. Thursday afternoon.

WorkSafeBC is investigating followinga fatal accident in Surrey, B.C. Thursday afternoon.

It happened on a rural property in the 15600 block of 40th Avenueat approximately 2:45 p.m. PT.

Details are scarcebutWorkSafeBCspokeswoman Trish Knight Cherneckisaid it involved a worker and a tractor.

WorkSafeBC, theB.C. Coroners Service and the Surrey RCMP are all investigating.

The victim's identity is not yet known, butB.C. Coroners Service spokespersonBarb McLintocksays he was a male in his 40s who was part of a crew harvesting beets when the accident happened.
