Alberta woman searches for long-lost brother

An Alberta woman is hoping social media will help her locate an older brother she's never met.

Shylow Wilson from Calgary says her brother, who would now be 28years old, likely has no idea that he has three biological siblings eager to meet him.

"I just want us to be a family because all we have is each other. I really want us to meet," said Wilson. "I'm keeping my fingers crossed."

The 25-year-old began her search last Thursday when she posted a call for information on Facebook. Her post drew lots of interest, with nearly 5,000 shares, and Wilson has been flooded with hundreds of messages.

"I really want to thank everyone for helping me find him."

Wilson has few details on her missing brother.

'I'm very hopeful'

He was born at in Calgary's Grace Hospital in February 1987. His birth name was Matthew Levasseur, he was adopted by a nurse at the hospital, and it's believed the family moved to Fort McMurray shortly thereafter.

Their biological mother was Marilyn Levasseur, who died at 24after abattle with alcoholism.

"I have enough information, I know I will find him, it's just a matter of time," said Wilson. "I'm very hopeful."

Wilson was just one year old when she and her other biological brother were adopted into the same Calgary home. Wilson's sister was adopted by a different family, but remained an important figure in her life.

"We used to hang out when we were little kids. My adoptive mom always wanted to keep us close." said Wilson.

She credits her adoptive mother for keeping the family intact, and inspiring their search.

"I always knew he existed, but she reminded me and told me I should try and find him," she said. "He's the final piece of the puzzle."
