Mobile apothecary business gets birthday blessing after stolen trailer recovered in B.C.

Just in time for her birthday, a Calgary apothecary vendor's solar-powered trailer was recovered after being stolen from the Tsawwassen ferry terminal in B.C.

Raphaelle Gagnon and her partner appeared on CBC News Vancouver at 6 on Wednesday night. Shortly after it aired, they received a phone call that the trailer was seen in a condominium parking lot a few kilometres from where it originally had been stolen.

"We're delighted. It was found on my birthday, on top of it, which is great," said Gagnon, co-owner of Boreal Folk Apothecary, which makes and sells natural plant-based skincare products.

She went with police to identify the trailer and found the locks were broken and many items were gone.

"There are thousands of dollars worth of things that are missing."

Among the missing items were their motorbikes and a handcrafted copper instrument used to distill essential oils, worth many thousands of dollars, according to Gagnon.

The pair were on a vending tour in the area, and had been at a craft market in Victoria at the time their trailer was stolen.

Gagnon says she expects to know more about the rest of the items in the coming days.
