Calgary police, RCMP investigate after body found in rural area near Airdrie

Police are investigating after a body was found in a rural area north of Airdrie, Alta., on Tuesday.

Both Calgary police and RCMP officers are on scene investigating, police said, as the location is close to Calgary city limits and may be connected to an ongoing investigation.

Elliston Park was also searched in relation to this incident, police said, andthe identity of the body will be confirmed after an autopsy.

Police said no further details would be released Tuesday.
