Suspicious death of Calgary woman, 31, now deemed an accident

Police now believe Amanda Antoni, 31, fell down the stairs in her Castleridge home in 2015 after initially calling the death "very suspicious."

Calgary policesay the death of Amanda Antoniin her Castleridge houselast yearhas been ruledaccidental.

The 31-year-old's body was discovered on Oct. 26, 2015 by her husband, when he came home after being out of town for a few days.

Police believe Antonihad been dead for two days.

Initially, police said there were signs of a violent incident in the home and called the situation "very suspicious."

Following an investigation by thehomicide unit,police now believe Antoni fell down the stairs.

The conclusion was reached after consulting multiple experts, Calgary police said in a news release on Tuesday.

In a statement released shortly after her death, Antoni's family said they were devastated by the loss.

"Amanda was a beautiful person who was taken from this world way too soon," the family said.

"Whether it was buying a meal for someone who was hungry and could not afford food, or brightening someone's day with her amazing smile, laugh, or kindness, she was an inspiration to those who knew her."
