Rock climbers' bodies, including former Calgarian, found on Scottish mountain

The bodies of a former Calgary woman and her climbing partner experienced climbers who had been missing for more than a month have been found on Scotland's Ben Nevis mountain.

The bodiesof a former Calgary woman and her climbing partner experienced climbers who had been missing for more than a month have been found on Scotland's Ben Nevis mountain.

RachelSlater, whose family still lives in Calgary, and Tim Newton had been missing since Feb. 13.

LochaberMountain Rescue has posted on itsFacebookpage that two bodies were found on Wednesday.

Bad weather hampered earlier attempts to find the pair.

BBC Scotland says police have confirmed the bodies have been identified asSlaterand Newton.

Slaterwas a U.K. citizen who lived and attended school in Calgary between 2005 and 2009.

"The effort which has gone into this rescue has been immense in some of the most challenging conditions youcould expect to experience," the local rescue team said on itsFacebookpost.
