Man charged in fatal shooting of man dropped off at Sheldon Chumir Health Centre

An 18-year-old has been charged in the shooting death of another man who was dropped off with a gunshot wound outside the Sheldon Chumir Health Centre in Calgary in January.

An 18-year-old has been charged in the shooting death of another man who was dropped off with a gunshot wound outside the Sheldon Chumir Health Centre in Calgary in January.

AusamaEffatMohamedwas arrested Saturdaywithout incidentand charged with second-degree murder, police said Monday.

ItgelBaatarsuren, 22, was dropped off with a gunshot woundat the downtown urgent care clinic on Jan. 23.

Staffcalled police and Baatarsurenwas rushed to hospital, where he died of his injuries.

The man seen dropping Baatarsurenoff at the clinic was initially taken into custody but later released.

Police said they believe the shooting took place earlier in the evening on Jan. 23 in a parking lot in the area of the 900 block of 36th Street N.E. and was the result of a dispute involving drugs.
