Police saidthe Calgary Police Service member was arrested Saturday by RCMP in a neighbouring municipality and charged with one count of assault after the alleged domestic incident.

The officer, who has been with CPS for 22 years, has been relieved from duty with pay. His status will be reviewed over the next 30 days.
