Calgary police say 20-year-old man reported missing now believed killed

Calgary police are seeking information from the public to locate the body of a man who has been missing since last weekend.

Calgary police are seeking information from the public to locate the body of a man who has been missing since last weekend.

Shane Eric James Smith,20, of Calgary, was reported missing by family on Sunday, having been last seen in the community of McKenzie Towne the day prior.

Police believe that Smith was killed at a residence in southeast Calgary sometime late Saturday night.

According to police, Smith's vehicle, a gold 2002 Nissan Maxima, was parked near the Deerfoot Trail bridgeover the Bow River at the southern city limits, sometime between 11 p.m. on Saturday and Tuesday morning.

No other information about the case was immediately available. Police are looking to speak with anyone with dash camera footage who drove over the bridge between Saturday eveningand Tuesday morning.
