Man sent to hospital in critical condition after Sunday morning shooting in southeast Calgary

A man was sent to hospitalin critical condition after a shooting in southeast Calgary early Sunday morning, police say.

Police believe the shooting was random, as suspect and victim do not know each other

A man was sent to hospitalin critical condition after a shooting in southeast Calgary early Sunday morning, police say.

Police said the shooting took place around 5 a.m. on the 2100 block of 50 Street S.E.

The victim was taken to the Foothills Hospital in critical condition. There is no update on the man's condition at the moment, police say.

Meanwhile, asuspect in the shooting was also taken to hospital after being arrested. Police could not provide more information regarding why the suspect was brought to the hospital.

The two individuals do not knoweach other, police say.

Police are still speaking withwitnesses. No charges have been laid at this point, police say.
