Calgary's 41 Brigade Group holds open house

Calgary's 41 Brigade Group of the Canadian Forces wants youeven if it's only part time.

The Unit held an open house at the former CFB Currie Barracks Saturday afternoon in an effort to recruit reservists.

Commanding Officer Lt.- Col. Dan Beauchamp says the "citizen soldiers" can learn more than just a trade.

"We train people to receive a job, to think about the job, and to execute the job so we train a lot of leadership skills," Beauchamp says.

The open house ended Saturday, but officials say recruiting is ongoing.

Reservists are asked to serve every Wednesday night and typically one weekend every month.
