1 dead, another seriously injured in Saddle Ridge shooting

EMS said one man is dead and another clinging to life after a shooting in northeast Calgary on Saturday.

Police said they received multiple calls about a shootingin the 200 block of Saddlecrest Boulevard N.E. around 7:25p.m.

Two men were found with gunshot wounds, police said.

The first man was pronounced dead at the scene, the second taken to Foothills hospital inlife-threatening condition, EMS said.

Saddlecrest Boulevard was cordoned off and police askeddrivers to avoid the area while officers investigated.

Police said in an emailed release at 9:30 p.m. that suspect descriptions were not yet available as the investigation is in its early stages.

An autopsy willbe scheduled for early next week to identify the victim, police said.
