Video shows swarming attack in downtown Calgary

Police have released descriptions of three suspects wanted in connection with a July stabbing in downtown Calgary that sent a man to hospital.

On July 15, at about 9:30 p.m., several men werein the courtyard of the Aquitaine Tower at 540 Fifth Ave. S.W. when three men suddenly turned on a fourth. The victim was stabbed, beaten and pepper-sprayed while being robbed of his backpack.

The attackers fled and the victim walked to the front entrance of the nearby Poco Loco Pizza, at 526 Fourth Ave. S.W., where he collapsed.

Witnesses dialed 911.

Surveillance video shows the victim being attacked by two men one who appears to be swinging a machete or a club then a third sprays what looks like mace directly into the victim's face multiple times.

The man was rushed to hospital. He has since recovered.

The three suspects are all believed to be in their early 20s.

The first suspect is described as dark-skinned, about five foot 10 inches tall with a slim build. He was wearing a black baseball cap, black hoodie, black T-shirt, black pants, black shoes and black gloves.

The second suspect is dark-skinned, about five foot 10 inches tall with a slim build. He was wearing a grey hoodie, grey jeans, white running shoes, black gloves and had sunglasses on his head.

The third suspect is white and was wearing a white T-shirt, grey shorts, black socks and shoes and a black baseball cap with sunglasses. He was carrying a large black bag around his neck and walked with a noticeable limp.
