Seans Somers with the city says there are a bunch of big projects coming up this summer that will affect traffic.

Macleod Trail

A"diverging diamond interchange" will be installed in Calgary's southeastatMacleodTrail and162nd Street.

Itfeatures a number of upgrades likewidening the roadway to accommodate dual-left turns, improving traffic flow and increasing the efficiency of the intersection for pedestrians, transit users and motorists.

Crews are also revitalizing the pedestrian connectivity at the intersection to provide better accessibility to the pathways that cross the overpass. It's expected to be done by this fall.

Bowfort and Trans-Canada

Construction crews are currently in the process of paving the transition sections of the Trans-Canada Highway.

This isresulting in traffic delays eastbound because only one lane is open.This situation will likely remain this way until approximately the end of June.

The project is anticipated to be fully complete later this summer, but until that time, there will be lane reductions and detours in order to finish the tie-ins from the existing portions of the highway to the newly constructed roadway.

Glenmore-Ogden

Glenmore Trail is one of the most important arteries in the city, which turns into provincial highways both east (Highway 56) and west (Highway 8) of the city limits.

This is a significant location with high levels of vehicular traffic, connecting the city's industrial area with residential communities to the north and west of the site.

To support the need for increased mobility capacity at this location, a diamond interchange is being constructed over Glenmore Trail at Ogden Road S.E. It's expected to be ready in

• 14 Street N.W. between 21nd Avenue and 64th Avenue N.W.
• 32 Avenue N.E. between Burroughs Manor and 36th Street N.E.
• 16 Avenue N.E. between Deerfoot Trail and FifthStreet N.E.
• Sixth Avenue S.W. between 10th Street and 16th Street S.W., including the 14th Street ramps.
• 37th Street S.W. between 33rd Avenue and Richardson Way S.W.
• Heritage Drive S.E. between Glendeer Circle and 77th Avenue S.E.
• Communities of Woodbine, Willow Park, Rosscarrock, Rundle and Martindale.
• Spruce Drive S.W. between Worcester Drive and EighthAvenue S.W.
