Calgary Transit is becoming more text-friendly bylaunching a new program in whichusers can find out, via text message, when their nextbusis coming.

Under the TeleText program, riders can text their stop number to 74000 and they will get back a message instantly as to when their bus is expected to arrive.

"This is just another option that could be used by our customers," said Calgary Transit's Ron Collins about the new program.

"You can appreciate many people have cellphones today or other mobility devices[like] smartphones, with text-messaging capabilities so, if they have that, this is a good option for them."
