Thief steals donations meant for abandoned Cochrane pets

Police are hoping to find a thief caught on camera swiping a donation box for the Cochrane Humane Society.

The suspect was caught on camera stealing donations intended for abandoned pets like Jon, an eight-year-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi cross missing an eye. But hey, the guy probably needed it more. (RCMP/Cochrane Humane Society)

Police are hoping to find a thief caught on camera swiping a donation box for the Cochrane Humane Society.

RCMPhavereleased an image of thesuspect,described as a white male, and are asking the public for help in identifying and locating him.

Police say the manwalked into the FourthAve Liquor Store in Cochrane on Jan. 9 and took the donation box from the front counter before quickly exiting the store.

Anyone with information is asked tocontact the Cochrane RCMPat403-851-8000 orCrimestoppers anonymously.

The Cochrane Humane Society has numerous dogs and cats and even a couple ofrabbitsavailable for adoption.
