RCMP investigating early morning break-in at a Cochrane residence

Police are looking for four suspects involved in a break-in to a Cochrane residence early Sunday morning and who left with the victim's two cars anda bag of personal effects that includedRCMPpolice identification.

RCMP are looking for four suspects involved in a break-in to a Cochrane, Alta.,residence early Sunday morning.

In a release, police said the suspects left the home in two vehicles belonging to the victims,along witha bag of personal effects that includedRCMPpolice identification.

The break-in happened around 4:15 a.m. in the Rivercrest Blvd. area of Cochrane, RCMP said.

One suspect, a man between 5'6" and 5'10" and 170-185 pounds was captured by a residential doorbell camera.

He went into the main floor of the home and left with keys to the victims'vehicles and a family bag with personal effects, including agold-plated,RCMP-crested badge with employee identification, police said.

"RCMP are aware that with this identification in the hands of criminals it could be used to impersonate a RCMP officer," police said in a release.

The man was wearing a Gucci hoodie, a watch, dark-framed glasses, a black bandana, jeans and white running shoes with black laces.

A second video camera over the driveway of the residence captured two of the other suspects coming from an SUV down the street driven by someone police considerto bea fourth suspect.

They are described as a man between 5'6" and 5'8" and 160-175 pounds wearing a windbreaker, baseball cap, shoulder pack and backpack, and a man between 5'8" and5'10" and 160-175 pounds wearing a black sweater with a hood and a face mask.

Police gaveno description of the person driving the vehicle that the two men exited.

Upon arrival, police determined that the residence had been entered unlawfully.

The three men drove away in the victims' vehicles: a black 2019 Dodge Ram withAlberta licence plate BCJ3641, and agrey 2022 Kia Telluride, licence plate BXZ5040.

Police said they have no reason to believe the break-and-enter was targeted or that the suspects knew an RCMP badge would be in the residence.

RCMP are asking anyone with information to call403-851-8000 or their local police. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers.

"Citizens are reminded that they can request identification from anyone identifying themselves as a police officer and can also call the police non-emergency number to confirm an officers identity," police said.
